Job Overview:
A well-established law firm located in Marina del Rey, CA, is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its team. This role involves assisting with civil litigation matters, including discovery, law and motion practice, trial preparation, and client management. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in civil litigation and a strong desire to contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Duties:

  • Prepare and respond to discovery requests (e.g., interrogatories, requests for production).
  • Draft motions and oppositions as part of law and motion practice.
  • Assist in trial preparation, including witness prep and exhibit organization.
  • Review and draft pleadings, settlement agreements, and discovery responses.
  • Represent clients in court hearings and mediation as needed.
  • Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Contribute to case strategy and client management.

Requirements:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • An active member of the California State Bar.
  • At least 1+ years of experience in civil litigation (knowledge of discovery, law and motion practice, and trial preparation is preferred).
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active California State Bar membership.
