Director Front Office

Description:

As a Director of Front Office, you would be responsible for directing and administering all Front Desk operations in the hotel's ongoing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. You will assist with rooms financial reporting as needed and provide guidance to the property Guest Loyalty Manager. Management-level associates are expected to work as much of each workday as necessary to complete their responsibilities.

Exempt managers must regularly direct the work of at least 3 full-time associates or their equivalents. Primary duties should be administrative, executive, or professional tasks more than 50% of the time, involving discretion and independent judgment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Hospitality Management with at least 5 years of progressive Front Office management experience in a 500+ room hotel with meeting space, or an applicable Associate's degree with at least 3 years of Front Office management experience.
  • Specific brand experience, OnQ (PMS) Certification (as defined by property), 500+ room experience, and/or previous director-level experience preferred.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee all Guest Services operations including guest service and registration (check-in/check-out), room inventory, guest service standards, product quality, cost controls, profitability, brand marketing initiatives, systems management, budgeting, forecasting, policy enforcement, and meeting participation.
  • Monitor and develop associate performance through supervision, professional development, scheduling, counseling, evaluations, and recognition.
  • Assess service and satisfaction trends, address issues, and implement improvements.
  • Implement marketing and up-selling strategies to maximize occupancy and revenue.
  • Ensure associates are knowledgeable about hotel products, services, facilities, events, pricing, policies, and local area information.
  • Analyze daily reports and data to inform decision-making.
  • Resolve guest issues to ensure satisfaction.
  • Recruit, interview, and train staff.
  • Participate in the Property Manager on Duty program.
  • Respond to emergencies, including operating the Fire Panel and communicating with emergency personnel.
  • Complete assigned tasks and projects as required.
