Job Description

As a Director of Front Office, you will be responsible for directing and managing all Front Desk operations at the hotel, ensuring outstanding guest service and financial profitability. You will assist with room financial reporting as needed and support the Guest Loyalty Manager. Management-level associates are expected to work as much of each workday as necessary to fulfill their responsibilities.

Exempt managers typically supervise at least 3 full-time associates or their equivalents. Their primary duties should be more than 50% administrative, executive, or professional tasks, involving discretion and independent judgment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Hospitality Management with at least 5 years of progressive Front Office management experience in a hotel with 500+ rooms, or an applicable Associate's degree with at least 3 years of management experience.
  • Specific brand experience, OnQ PMS certification, experience managing 500+ room hotels, or previous director-level experience is preferred.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage all Guest Services operations, including guest registration, room inventory, service standards, product quality, cost controls, profitability, brand marketing initiatives, system management, budgeting, policy enforcement, and meetings.
  • Oversee associate performance, including supervision, development, scheduling, counseling, evaluations, recognition, and rewards.
  • Monitor service and satisfaction trends, address issues, and implement improvements.
  • Implement marketing and upselling strategies to maximize occupancy and revenue.
  • Ensure associates are knowledgeable about hotel offerings and local events.
  • Analyze daily reports and data to inform decisions.
  • Resolve guest issues to ensure satisfaction.
  • Recruit, interview, and train staff.
  • Participate in the Property Manager on Duty program.
  • Be certified to respond to emergencies, including fire and security incidents.
  • Complete assigned tasks or projects as needed.
