Job Title: Manager Logistics & Warehousing - India

Department: Supply Chain

Reports To: Senior Manager, Global Operations and Trade - Hamel MN US

General Description / Purpose

Manager Logistics & Warehousing will be responsible for supporting domestic and international logistics activities required to successfully deliver machines and parts globally, ensuring compliance and meeting customer requirements. The role includes managing documentation, customs compliance, logistics functions, supporting warehouse operations, and developing inventory strategies.

Essential Job Functions

Transportation Management

  • Execute timely delivery of goods and documents, ensuring accuracy and professionalism.
  • Serve as liaison between internal customers and external logistics providers, managing quotes, freight arrangements, and logistics communications.
  • Monitor, track, and communicate shipment statuses.
  • Ensure on-time delivery and optimize shipping methods to balance service and cost.
  • Address logistics and carrier issues, including claims and freight costs.
  • Develop supply chains, routing processes, and cost-saving procedures.
  • Support logistics for manufacturing builds.

International

  • Assist with shipment documentation and compliance (commercial invoices, packing slips, fumigation certificates).
  • Handle order entry and manage customs registration and compliance.
  • Manage international freight forwarders for imports/exports.

Administrative

  • Maintain accurate trade documentation records.
  • Code and approve freight bills for payment.
  • Stay informed on transportation laws and regulations.
  • Manage HSN codes and process NPR POs.

Managing and Measuring Work

  • Coordinate traffic management activities, including cross-border movements and customs processing.
  • Manage machine delivery logistics and participate in proposal development.
  • Develop and publish logistics procedures.
  • Investigate shipment complaints and resolve issues.
  • Coordinate with customer service for aftermarket support.
  • Manage parts shipment processes and technical support activities.

Leadership

  • Provide leadership in logistics, warehouse, and inventory management decisions.
  • Ensure effective use of inventory management software.
  • Serve as liaison with auditors.
  • Promote a high-performance culture and develop productivity standards.
  • Lead implementation of new operational initiatives.

Warehousing & Inventory Management

  • Develop a culture of accountability.
  • Oversee warehouse operations, including logistics, scheduling, and transportation.
  • Manage inventory, cycle counts, and warehouse activities.
  • Supervise warehouse staff and implement 5S practices.
  • Create performance metrics for warehouse and logistics.

Functional & Technical Skills

  • Identify process improvements and lead cross-functional implementation.
  • Develop transportation network strategies with 3PLs and suppliers.
  • Manage inbound/outbound logistics in systems like IFS.
  • Collaborate with sourcing, procurement, and project teams.

Required Qualifications

Education: Master's degree in business, supply chain, engineering, finance, or related field.

Experience: 12+ years in materials, logistics, compliance, and supply chain management, with supervisory experience.
