JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Under general supervision of the Director of Internal Audit, the Internal Audit Manager will supervise the Internal Audit staff's performance while conducting on-site financial and operational audits for Tribal Government, Casino and Hotel properties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)

  • Assist the Director of Internal Audit with annual audit planning efforts.
  • Determine or assist in determining internal audit project scopes and timeframes. Ensure internal audits are resourced and completed properly.
  • Determine or assist in determining the direction and thrust of the proposed audit effort.
  • Determine or assist in determining the audit procedures to be used.
  • Perform a review of the audit procedures, record of work, and audit reports.
  • Review any submitted changes to the Casino Operations Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Make, or assist in making, oral or written presentations to management during and at the conclusion of the examination, discussing deficiencies, recommending corrective action, and suggesting improvements in operations and reductions in cost.
  • Prepare written summaries, as requested, expressing opinions on the adequacy and effectiveness of the system and the efficiency with which activities are carried out.
  • Direct Supervision of department Internal Auditors including training, development and performance management.
  • Oversee ACBCI Internal Auditors' work performance providing necessary coaching and training as required.
  • Must comply with all applicable ACBCI System of Internal Controls, Casino Operations Standard Operating Procedures and all Tribal Regulations.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, business administration, business management, finance or a closely related field.
  • CIA, CFE, or ACAMS Certificate required.
  • Minimum 5 years internal Audit experience with at least 3 years of experience in the gaming industry with extensive knowledge of casino operations, NIGC Minimum Internal Control Standards, Bank Secrecy Act's Anti-Money Laundering and other Federal and State Regulations pertaining to casinos.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in auditing or accounting.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Global Internal Audit Standards.
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills
  • Strong data analytical and report writing skills


WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

To perform this job successfully, the individual must me able to stand, move and work throughout the

office area and properties, including walking up to 1 ½ mile, climbing stairs and sitting at a desk/work

station for the duration of the shift. Also, may be subjected to a smoke-filled environment.

Typically, the individual will be housed in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but will escalate when located in the casino environment. Must be able to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing a minimum of 25 lbs. on an intermittent basis, and sufficient dexterity of hand in order to use office equipment including, but not limited to: a computer keyboard, calculator, general office equipment and multi-line telephone.
