HR Support Representative-Human Resources

Provides administrative and functional support to the Human Resources (HR) department. Answers and processes general HR related questions.

Job Description:

Education:

Required: High school diploma, GED or higher level degree
Preferred: Bachelor's degree

Licensure/Certification:

Required: N/A

Experience:

Required: Two (2) years of HR experience or Bachelors degree in lieu of experience
Preferred: HR experience in healthcare

  • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
  • Coordinates pre-employment process for new hires; includes new employee examinations, background checks, orientation enrollment, and completion of New Employee Checklist.
  • Reviews and validates new hire forms for accuracy, completeness, and signatures. Communicates pay rates and overtime details to new hires as applicable.
  • Reviews benefit plans and enrollment options with new hires and employees; escalates complex questions to HR or Benefits Specialists.
  • Processes new employee badges and security access.
  • Supports HR with General Orientation (GO) and Rewards and Recognition programs.
  • Verifies and documents professional licensure and certification status upon hire, promotion, and renewal, using primary source verification; escalates issues as needed.
  • Distributes compliance emails for life support certifications.
  • Enters and reviews changes in HRIS system, including status, compensation, benefits, licensure, and corrective actions; collaborates to improve protocols.
  • Maintains employee data integrity throughout the employee lifecycle.
  • Acts as backup for Leave of Absence (LOA) coordination, including return-to-work confirmation and LOA log reconciliation.
  • Collects and enters data for students, physicians, and contractors in HRIS.
  • Prepares termination packets, processes employee terminations, and notifies HR of outstanding obligations.
  • Creates and audits electronic personnel files.
  • Assists with audit and survey preparation.
  • Directs employees to appropriate resources, answers HR questions, and manages front desk duties as scheduled.
  • Processes unemployment and family leave claims; escalates complex issues.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships.
  • Operates office equipment and uses MS Office Suite and HRIS systems.
  • Prioritizes tasks and manages time effectively.
  • Identifies issues and formulates solutions.
  • Provides excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Organizes efforts to create a positive work environment.
  • Types accurately and efficiently, including function keys.
