SUMMARY
Provide prevention services to Native American TANF Families with a focus on assisting the family unit with obtaining self-sufficiency. Duties may include a combination of the following: eligibility verification, referrals to supportive services and activities, classroom instruction for employer services, and mentoring. Program Specialist are responsible for developing, scheduling, implementing and evaluating prevention activities in a specific program area, such as higher education, culture, life enrichment, wellness, and special events for a wide variety of age groups and special populations. Monitor activity expenditures and prepare related reports; publicize activities through a wide variety of promotional media or brochures, weekly newsletters and keep records of all activities and events. Must be professional and energetic with good public relation skills to interact with children, parents, peers, and the public, keep community members informed about the various activities provided. Facilitate access to training, education, employment and prevention services. Ensure that case documentation meets regulatory guidelines. Will be involved in the scheduling and planning of trainings and events for youth work experience activities. This individual will provide administrative support services to Native American Youth.
