Job Summary:

This Associate Director of Business Development is responsible for identifying and cultivating new customer relationships to achieve annual new customer acquisition and pipeline growth targets for WuXi Biologics' Global Biologics Research Division. The role emphasizes new business development through proactive outreach, maintaining existing client relationships, and collaborating closely with marketing teams.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Generate new business from new customers via high-level outreach, including customer visits and extensive networking activities.
  • Demonstrate strong technical knowledge and effectively promote WuXi Biologics' capabilities and specialties. Provide solution-based, consultative selling to meet customer needs.
  • Maintain existing customer relationships through trust and high-quality support.
  • Work with marketing, project managers, and production teams to develop strategies for customer acquisition and retention.
  • Gather market intelligence through information collection and trend analysis on industry, pricing, and competitors.
  • Analyze and track competitors' activities and help shape departmental strategic planning.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree required; an advanced degree in science or equivalent experience (e.g., PhD, MBA) is preferred.
  • Experience in sales or business development is advantageous.
  • Background in antibody drug discovery, recombinant protein expression & purification, and knowledge of downstream pre-clinical assays is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop important relationships with customers and stakeholders, and good conflict management skills.
  • Ability to translate strategy into action, with strong influence, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • High energy, self-motivated, with a strong drive for continuous improvement.
  • Strong team player.
  • Ability to travel.

The anticipated pay range for this position is $115,000 - $200,000.
