Under general supervision, drives a bus over an assigned route to transport passengers according to schedule and in a safe and courteous manner; collects fares from passengers; prepares and maintains daily passenger reports; and performs a variety of pre-trip and preventative maintenance functions. Representative Duties Drives a bus over a designated route to transport passengers in accordance with established time schedule; follows all rules and regulations. Picks-up and off loads passengers at pre-arranged locations; assists passengers in boarding and departing the bus as necessary; loads and unloads wheelchairs. Collect fares and keeps records of amounts collected and distances traveled. Ensures passenger safety on the bus; maintains order among passengers on the bus. Makes regular inspections of bus including pre-trip safety inspections following established check lists; check belts, oil, and water levels.
