Position Description
Under administrative leadership, it is the responsibility of the part-time instructor to conduct assigned classes and support advancement of the values represented by the Vision Statement and Mission Statement of the District.

Standards are established in accordance with the Minimum Qualifications for Faculty and Administrators in California Community Colleges as adopted by the California Community Colleges Board of Governors for the discipline. Minimum Qualifications for Instructor: A master's degree or higher degree from an accredited college or university which includes course work in nursing, education AND direct patient care experience within the previous five (5) years in the nursing area to which he or she is assigned, which can be met by: One (1) years continuous, full-time or its equivalent experience providing direct patient care as a registered nurse in the designated nursing area (Med/Surge) OR one (1) academic year of registered nurse level clinical teaching experience in the designated nursing area or its equivalent that demonstrates clinical competency AND completion of at least one (1) year's experience teaching Med/Surge theory courses related to registered nursing.
Minimum Qualifications for Clinical Instructor: An Associate degree with six (6) years experience, or a Bachelor's degree or higher with one (1) year continuous, full-time or equivalent experience providing direct patient care as a Registered Nurse in the designated nursing area (Pediatrics) OR one (1) academic year of Registered Nurse level clinical teaching experience in the designated nursing area or its equivalent that demonstrates clinical competency.

Hourly rate is based on degree: PhD/EdD: $74.36/hour - Lecture. $59.90/hour - Lab. MA/MS: $71.43/hour - Lecture. $57.55/hour - Lab. BA/BS: $68.64/hour - Lecture. $55.28/hour - Lab.
