Job Title: Seasonal Food Service Dishwasher
Location: The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens - Palm Desert, CA Department: Food & Beverage Reports To: Sous Chef, F&B Supervisors, Operations Manager Employment Type: Seasonal / Part-Time
Position Summary:
The Living Desert is seeking hardworking and dependable Seasonal Dishwashers to support our Food & Beverage team during peak visitor seasons. This behind-the-scenes role is essential to maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment, helping ensure a positive guest experience at our zoo and gardens.
Key Responsibilities:
Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment using commercial dishwashing machines and manual methods.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of dishwashing and kitchen areas.
Assist with trash removal, recycling, and general kitchen cleaning tasks.
Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies as needed.
Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper handling of chemicals and equipment.
Support kitchen staff with basic prep or stocking tasks when needed.
Uphold The Living Desert's mission of conservation through preservation, education & awareness.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- No prior experience required; training provided.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Additional Information:
- This is a seasonal position with variable hours based on operational needs.
- Chef Coat and training provided.
- Current Food Handlers Card required.
