The Martin Tuchman School of Management (MTSM) seeks adjuncts to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in Management Information Systems (MIS). Adjunct instructors will be given the learning objectives and requirements for each class assigned. MTSM offers an undergraduate degree in Business with concentrations in Accounting Systems, Finance, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Marketing and Management Information Systems and an undergraduate degree in Financial Technology (FinTech). MTSM also offers graduate degrees including a Master in Business Administration, Master of Science in Management, and a Ph.D. in Business Data Science.
Essential functions include developing and delivering lectures, preparing and grading assignments, learning and using the learning management system - Canvas. Provide time during the week to meet with students outside of class (i.e. office hours) as needed; verify presence and submit grades to the Registrar at the end of the semester.
Prerequisite qualifications include previous teaching experience; a Master's degree from an accredited institution in the area applicable to teaching area. Currently employed with duties related to the teaching subject area. Professional experience substantial in duration and level of responsibility; sustained academic or business related or professional engagement activities within the last 5 years. For those who have taught any college-level course before, you must submit teaching evaluations; all candidates at least two reference letters are required. The letters should focus on teaching/presentation skills, domain knowledge and willingness to help others (students); and all candidates must include a personal statement.
Preferred qualifications include a Ph.D. from an AACSB accredited institution in the area applicable to teaching area; professional engagement activities which involve application of specialized knowledge.
Bargaining unit: AFT-UCAN.
Salary information: In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the rate for this position is $2591 per contact hour. (USD). NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses or other items.
FLSA: Exempt. Full-time.
