POSITION OVERVIEW
Desert Champions is a world-class event management company that manages and operates a curated selection of sports and entertainment events, the most notable of which is the BNP Paribas Open, the largest ATP and WTA combined two-week event in the world. Desert Champions also manages year-round venue operations at the renowned Indian Wells Tennis Garden and oversees the administration of the Easter Bowl Junior Championships and Nobu Indian Wells restaurant.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop, implement, and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards *
• Manage daily security operations and supervise security personnel or contractors *
• Conduct regular risk assessments, security audits, and vulnerability analyses *
• Monitor, investigate security incidents; prepare detailed incident reports for the Indian Wells Tennis Garden including but not limited to the BNP Paribas, Nobu Restaurant, The Tennis Club, and any third-party events *
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational security requirements *
• Coordinate with law enforcement, emergency services, and other external agencies *
• Oversee access control systems, surveillance (CCTV), alarms, and security technologies *
• Develop and lead emergency response and crisis management plans *
• Train employees and security staff on safety, security awareness, and procedures *
• Manage security budgets, schedules, and resource allocation *
• Protect company assets, facilities, and personnel from theft, vandalism, and threats *
• Perform other duties as assigned *

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
• Proven experience in security management, law enforcement, military, or corporate security
• Strong knowledge of security systems, risk assessment, and incident response
• Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
• Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
• Threat analysis and risk mitigation
• Team leadership and staff supervision
• Crisis and emergency management
• Report writing and documentation
• Attention to detail and strong ethical judgment
• Proficiency with security software and monitoring systems
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
• California Manager Workplace Harassment certification
• California Manager Workplace Violence Prevention certification
LANGUAGE ABILITY
• Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to write and formulate articulate correspondence
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups of customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
MATH ABILITY
• Basic math ability
• Calculation of amounts, sizes, or other measures
• Strong foundation in core concepts of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
COMPUTER SKILLS
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
