Title: Senior Commercial Asset Manager
Location: Riverside, CA (Must be based in California)
Compensation: $150,000 - $175,000 (with flexibility) + 20% annual bonus + 15% LTI
Schedule: Primarily remote; travel to the power plant one week per month; Monday-Friday, standard business hours
Benefits:

  • 401(k): Employer matches 100% of the first 3% and 50% of the next 2% of your contributions (up to 5% of pay). Employees are immediately vested in this contribution. An additional 4% contribution is provided with a 3-year cliff vesting schedule, effective the 1st of the month following 60 days of employment.
  • Paid Time Off: 22 days per year.
  • Disability Insurance: Short-term and long-term disability are fully covered. Short-term covers 50% of pay up to 26 weeks; long-term covers 60% of pay up to a maximum monthly amount.
  • Life and AD&D Insurance: Basic life insurance and accidental death & dismemberment insurance of 1x base salary are fully covered. Business travel accident insurance is provided at 5x base salary at no cost to the employee.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Serve as the single point of contact for commercial management of the facility, including daily CAISO bidding and fuel/transportation strategy.
  • Provide strategic leadership across energy management, CAISO interface, bilateral contracting/hedging, risk management, and emissions strategy.
  • Manage financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Review and optimize commercial contracts to maximize revenue and minimize costs.
  • Monitor and analyze energy markets, prices, and regulations to identify opportunities and manage risks.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and national regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with on-site plant leadership and third-party service providers.
  • Report on asset performance, financial metrics, and market conditions to senior leadership.
What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7-10 years of experience in asset management, energy trading, or procurement within the California energy market (combined-cycle, natural gas-fired plants preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of California energy markets and regulatory environments.
  • Advanced financial modeling and analytical expertise.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly strategic, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
