IT Project Manager (Facilities)

Description:

Hansell Tierney is assisting our client, a large regional healthcare organization, with locating an experienced IT Facilities Project Manager to support major construction and facilities initiatives. This consultant will lead all phases of technology planning, design, implementation, integration, testing, and transition to steady-state operations for capital and facilities-related projects.

Location: Hybrid - Primarily Onsite (Greater Seattle Area)
Duration: 12+ months

Compensation: Hourly rate depends on skills and experience and is estimated to be between $70.00 and $85.00 per hour. All skills and experiences encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

End-to-End IT Project Leadership

  • Oversee all IT-related activities associated with assigned construction and facilities projects.
  • Lead planning, design coordination, schedule development, budgeting, and cross-team facilitation for IT infrastructure components.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project schedules with detailed work breakdowns and milestones.
  • Coordinate with technical teams to align resources and ensure execution of tasks according to project timelines.
Issues, Risks & Stakeholder Management

  • Proactively identify, track, and resolve project risks and issues, escalating appropriately when needed.
  • Maintain regular communication with IT stakeholders to ensure visibility and transparency.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for IT activities across assigned projects.
Budget & Reporting

  • Develop, manage, and forecast project budgets, including labor allocations and IT resource plans.
  • Provide bi-weekly and portfolio-level status reporting through the organization's PMO tools and governance processes.
  • Ensure all project artifacts and documentation comply with standard PMO requirements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with IT Technical Project Managers to ensure infrastructure requirements are met and implementation activities stay on track.
  • Partner with Project Coordinators on procurement, equipment tracking, and delivery of IT products and services.
  • Interface with architects, facilities planners, construction teams, and space planning groups to ensure IT designs and standards are accurately represented in project drawings.
  • Facilitate work across multiple IT domains: network, telecom, desktop, audio-visual, and related services.
Facilities & Construction-Focused Responsibilities

  • Read and mark up construction drawings; ensure all IT components meet established standards.
  • Guide teams through all phases of the project lifecycle
  • Manage and prepare artifacts for gate reviews, quality reviews, and leadership presentations.
  • Coordinate with clinical engineering, nurse call systems, and clinical application teams.
  • Support integrations with clinical systems such as RTLS, patient monitoring, and care communication systems.
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Business, or related field OR equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years managing complex IT infrastructure projects.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience delivering large, multi-phase projects with numerous stakeholders.
  • Ability to work confidently with end users, technical teams, architects, and leadership.
  • Strong understanding of change management principles, problem-solving approaches, and structured PM methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with project and portfolio management tools: MS Project, Smartsheet, Visio, SharePoint, Teams, PowerPoint, and PPM solutions.
Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a healthcare or research environment.
  • Experience supporting IT elements of construction/facilities projects.
  • Knowledge of healthcare technology systems and clinical applications.
  • Financial management and vendor management experience.
  • Familiarity with both waterfall and agile delivery methodologies.
