ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking a Senior Safety Analysis Engineer for our client in nuclear energy! In this role, you will be responsible for conducting safety analyses for the reactor, supporting design transient analysis, SSC classification, and developing analytical models and methods.

Develop models and perform safety analyses of Anticipated Operational Occurrence, Design Basis Event, and Design Basis Accident.

Help integrate NEI Licensing Basis Event analyses and findings into licensing documentation and project design activities.

Contribute to the safety method development, such as code assessment, scaling analysis, code verification and validation activities, etc.

Perform engineering reviews of other engineering analyses and design deliverables.

Assess plant transient benchmark tests.

Contribute to the software framework implementation of capabilities for transient and accident analysis.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

BS degree in nuclear or other relevant engineering degree, with 10 years of experience. A higher degree can translate to years of experience.

Experience with safety analysis software, such as RELAP5, TRACE, TRAC, SAS4A/SASSYS-1, or similar.

Knowledge of nuclear systems thermal-hydraulic fundamentals.

Knowledge of reactor core physics such as neutron transport theory.

Understanding of NQA-1 requirements.

Familiarity with nuclear design, regulatory requirements, and risk-informed performance-based technology guidance.

BONUS QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in transient and accidental analysis for submittals to NRC.

Familiarity with EMDAP and Regulatory Guide 1.203.

Experience with SFR safety analysis or methods.

Experience with other reactor designs.

Software engineering skills in any language (Python, Fortran, C++, etc)
