Makwa Global, an SBA 8(a) and tribally owned enterprise, is seeking an experienced and innovative Technical Director to provide strategic technical leadership and oversee engineering and solution development across our federal programs. The Technical Director will play a critical role in drivingmission success through technical excellence, innovation, and compliance with federal contracting requirements. Must have prior experience working directly with Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, with proven knowledge of federal contracting processes, compliance, and mission support. ( Army or Air Force experience preferred)

This position requires a proven leader who can bridge the gap between strategy and execution-partnering with business development, capture, and program delivery teams to design and implement innovative technical solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership & Strategy

• Provide executive-level technical oversight across Makwa Global's IT, cybersecurity, engineering, and technology solutioning portfolio.
• Partner with executive leadership to define and implement enterprise-wide technical strategies that align with business growth and client mission objectives.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to clients, program managers, and internal leadership on complex technical issues.

• Lead the technical solutioning process for capture and proposal development, ensuring compliant, competitive, and innovative solutions.
• Develop technical volumes, solution architectures, and oral presentations for federal proposals.
• Collaborate with business development and program management to shape solutions that strengthen Makwa Global's competitive advantage.

• Provide technical guidance and executive-level support to program teams across contracts.
• Ensure programs are delivered with technical excellence, cost efficiency, and compliance with FAR, DFARS, and CMMC requirements.
• Oversee engineering practices and methodologies, driving continuous improvement and standardization across the enterprise.

• Identify and implement emerging technologies (AI/ML, automation, cloud, digital engineering, cybersecurity) into client and internal solutions.
• Promote an innovation-driven culture to improve operational effectiveness and mission success.
• Establish partnerships with vendors, academia, and industry peers to expand Makwa Global's technical capabilities.

• Lead and mentor engineering, solutioning, and technical professionals across the organization.
• Support workforce development by fostering training, certification, and career growth opportunities.
• Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within technical teams.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field required; Master's degree preferred.
• 12+ years of progressive experience in IT, engineering, or solution architecture, with at least 5 years in a leadership or director-level role.
• Strong background in solutioning and program delivery for federal government contracts (DoD, DoS, DHS, or other agencies).
• Experience leading proposals and solution design for competitive procurements.

• Must have prior experience working directly with Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, with proven knowledge of federal contracting processes, compliance, and mission support.
• Deep expertise in IT infrastructure, systems engineering, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies.
• Strong knowledge of federal proposal processes (Shipley or similar) and compliance frameworks (FAR, DFARS, CMMC, NIST).
• Exceptional communication and executive presence, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong project management, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
