Daily Duties & Responsibilities
Architecture & System Oversight

  • Architect, develop, and implement highly specialized IT architecture for mission-critical systems.
  • Serve as the Storage Infrastructure Architect ensuring stability and performance of enterprise systems.
  • Perform system health checks for key platforms, including:
    • Kafka
    • SAMQFS
    • ZFS
    • ESXi
    • Splunk
    • OpenDuty
    • Nagios
System Administration
  • Independently analyze, develop, test, implement, and maintain complex web, mainframe, and client-server technologies.
  • Architect, deploy, and manage systems software, hardware, and related infrastructure.
  • Provide advanced technical support for the development, installation, and maintenance of operating systems and subsystems used in mission-critical environments.
System Maintenance & Optimization
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for designing, creating, installing, and maintaining system software support components.
  • Continuously tune systems for optimal performance and reliability.
  • Track, analyze, and manage system capacity and performance.
  • Ensure system stability and operational readiness.
  • Train and advise Systems Programmers I & II and provide expert-level technical assistance to cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with other technical units, acting as both a resource and SME.

Required Skills (Ranked by Importance)
  1. 10+ years of experience with SAMQFS
  2. 10+ years of experience with SL8500
  3. 10+ years of experience with ACSLS
  4. 10+ years working with Clemson - USCalifornia DRBS relationship

  5. System performance review
  6. Troubleshooting complex systems

Required Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Math, Science, or a Technical Field
