Under general supervision and in accordance with established policies, procedures, and laws the payment poster is responsible for accurate and timely entry of payments, contractual adjustments, and denials within practice management system.
Apply general knowledge of coordination of benefit rules to accurately generate submission of balance billing to the next appropriate payer.
Recognizes and reports trends, irregularities and discrepancies to management to maximize financial stability.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Must have an overall understanding of medical billing practices with a minimum of 2 years of medical billing experience required.
Must be able to work at high volumes maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
Must be able to demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
Robust knowledge navigating Automated Clearing House (ACH), ERA processing platforms, online banking portals, and navigation of various insurance websites.
Knowledgeable of reimbursement policies, specifically insurance payments, claim adjustment reason codes (CARC), remittance advice remark codes (RARC), and various cost share scenarios.
Computer skills required. Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft applications with a strong emphasis on Excel.
Familiarity with computerized billing/document systems; ability to effectively and efficiently operate multiple payer systems; files claims, makes recommendations regarding best practice, and operates common office equipment (i.e., PC calculator, etc.).
Strong demonstration of HIPAA and privacy laws.

The pay range for this position is $18.50/hr minimum to $26.04/hr maximum. Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, years and level of related experience.
