Job Description

The Safety Consultant Manager will ensure the compliance with the health and safety across the organization, fulfilling all security standards and promoting a safe work environment for employees at Inter-Con across the organization. This position will require 50-75% travel across the U.S. to various contracts on a monthly basis.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement and ensure compliance with health and safety programs at the workplace.
• Review federal, state, and local safety regulations to determine applicability, identify potential compliance issues and provide recommendations.
• Participate/lead in monthly Safety Committee meetings.
• Assess and aid in completing Safety Audits at contracts across Inter-Con's portfolio and identify any improvement opportunities.
• Identify training opportunities to support employees at various sites.
• Assist in work place injury investigations, near-misses, and motor vehicle incidents to determine root cause and recommend measures to be implemented to prevent reoccurrence.
• Suggest and execute corrective and preventive action if/when identifying potential risks or unsafe conditions at the workspace.
• Train and educate the personnel in security, health and environment matters, ensuring all employees know the proper procedures in case of an emergency.
• Ensure compliance with local and federal regulations in regards of safety and organizational health.
• Ensure a safe environment within the workplace.
• Assist in providing safety and training materials on various topics to Trainers and EHS Specialist.
• Assist with OSHA responses and aid, when available, in OSHA inspection.

Other requirements or competencies:

• 3-5 years of experience in similar roles (health and safety, public safety, etc)
• Bachelors in health, safety, EHS, or similar
• Knowledge of federal and state specific OSHA regulations
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Understanding of the behavioral aspects of safety programs
• Experience in completing and developing safety audits/inspections
• OSHA certification a plus (will need to obtain if not certified)
• Experience in organizational culture
• Use of MS Office
